going from green to griege

Back in December, I was dashing down Picadilly to meet someone, and this delightful girl, Nicola, was smiling at me in my Motel Rocks leopard coat. Mutual leopard coat admiration. I was still doing my Great Motel Rocks Challenge so we did a little shoot.

I've been saving up these shots (& now, I can't decide which to use, so you might get some other versions another time, cupcakes!) but I didn't want to overwhelm you with leopard shots. Which is tricky, as everone's wearing leopard in London in one form or another (and at times, more than once in the same look).

But now I have a reason: to talk about the colour griege. It's been on my mind for a while. I've read that Jackie Kennedy liked a colour between grey and beige, which she called griege. And now, wouldn't you know it, Chanel has come out with the latest limited edition colour, 'trapeze', or, as the fashion editors are calling it, griege. It's the new jade.

Greetings from the frozen tundra that is currently Palm Beach County. Mr. Dot has found frozen fish when he tried to fish (catch & release) the lake outside the deck, which breaks my heart, but hopefully the cold spell is over and the crops will survive and the fish will re-generate.

Our hearts go out to the people of Haiti.

That's a beautiful colour, I've been looking for a matte version of it!

You're in florida! so sorry we aren't able to catch up down there this year- timing is everything! My mom tells me it is the coldest she can every remember down there for Boca.
Hope you are having fun!!!
Not trilled about the outfit above....maybe the hat, and black top that extends beyond the short jacket are just too much.....my 2 cents

I know what you mean, I'd prefer it matte. I think it might be, and that's just the glass.. can't say for sure, of course, since it's sold out ; )

i like this griege fad... but i'm not sure how great that colour would look on my horribly pale little fingers?? mmm... (holding my finger up in front of the bottle on my screen.... haha, doesn't help to see what it would look like very well!) regardless of that - i like it.

First time I heard of the color but it makes sense. I love that combo of colors.

I agree with the people of Haiti. I've been watching the news and what a sad thing, having the whole city leveled down.

I hope you're having a great vacation. xoxo

it just so happens i'm off to the mall today w/ a friend, and will check out that chanel trapeze color...been wanting such a taupe-y color. which leads me to..."greige"...i've never heard it called that! let's see: taupe is greyish brown. ok, so greige would be a lighter version, right? more of a nude color perhaps.

not sure if i could wear the jade on my nails. i'm so darn pale (soon you will see when we meet! i just called you, by the way, left a msg).

i like nicola's boots and coat very much. and it also just happens that i'm wearing a leopard print dress today (wishing for a faux fur coat in this chilly florida weather!)

xoxo

Hey Jill, Oh the confusion! Particuliere is definately a grey- brown but 'greown' doesnt have the same ring to it does it! Grazia called it greige but is is greown I tell you! I like the Trapeze but now I am looking at it I would say it look like a pale brown-silver! Will we ever find a true greige?!?! Oh and Particuliere means 'private' in french! Roz is definately a trooper, I am a wuss so the fur coats are here to stay LOL, I love your leo one too, hope your enjoying the snow free weather xx
