Gold is another thing that seems to have captured our imaginations lately. I don't know why. Sometimes it's silver, at the moment, it's gold. I especially like it with grey. One of my lovely samples that arrived from American Apparel is a lightweight inexpensive metallic fabric gold bag - the only one I brought on this trip - and yesterday in Palm Beach, where people wear really expensive things, I was getting all these compliments (oddly, this happened last spring with my cheap hot pink celebrity sandals).

I don't normally wear necklaces, but I so love a little charm necklace, with a bottle labelled 'drink me' like from Alice in Wonderland, and a little gold rabbit with scary red jewel eyes, that I bought from Laura of a daisy chain dream. £6.50, including postage, which her mom kindly queued for, BEFORE CHRISTMAS. I did it as a Christmas present from Mr. Dot, and she sent it wrapped so sweetly, with a card and a lollipop. What a star.
