everybody counts

It's another beautiful, perfect day outside my window in London town, but I'm home in bed with a cold that is getting worse by the minute. So it cheered me up no end to get a nice letter from the all walks beyond the catwalk people, letting me know I'm in the everybody counts facebook photo album.

And it's so nicely in keeping with my current black and white theme! How serendipitous.

Saw a lot of people I've spotted, dotted, and in some cases, like Rhiannon and Leila, have become friends with (what would that be then, frotted?). They've become everyone's favourite muses. (star brights, for example, or leila, or here.

Erin O'Connor, who is behind this wonderful initiative and is a co-founder. (For further reading, see erin o'connor waved @ me, or before jaeger).

Perhaps it's because I'm feeling ill, but I can't get the song 'everybody hurts' out of my head. I've just played R.E.M.'s original video, and if you have five minutes to spare, click here. I just need to know: am I crazy? Or is that like the best video ever?

Please click in the links at the top, become a fan on facebook, and spread the good word.

(not quite) tickled pink

To be filed under the 'don't you know who I am': before the Jaeger show, while shooting my future friend Natalie (canned fashion) and her friend/colleague, Lucy, of model me now, (see 'hot pink!'), when I saw this girl, all alone, seeming not to know anyone. Kept trying to get her to raise her head, higher, higher.. her eyes were in such harsh shadow from her hat. I was getting a bit impatient, she was, too.. she had a nice smile, a 'professional' smile, and I didn't get a model vibe from her but asked anyway, because it's always a compliment.

No, I'm not a model, she said. She told me she's a 'presenter'. Oh, shit. I did it again: insulted another celebrity. I do this all the time. So I started telling her about what a clueless old cow I am, I never recognise anyone, and asked if I she'd mind telling me who she worked for. Her smile was getting tighter, her eyes narrower. 'E! Entertainment', she replied, as the temperature dropped a few degrees in the large crowded room. 'Uh, okay, well, thank you for posing for my blog..' Did I give her my card? God knows.

Later, I saw her across from me at the show, along with Erin & some other no doubt important people who I didn't recognise. it got even weirder later, at home, as I thought she had said her name was 'Jen' and I saw that Jennifer Garner had done some presenting for 'E!' (they do look quite similar) and thought, damn, I've pissed off Ben Affleck's wife, but thanks to David of the Nyanzi report, I discovered - when I saw the shot I took - that it is after all, Louise Roe. A presenter. For E! Mystery solved. Whew. Still haven't heard from her, tho.

Still really into that hot pink, btw. Especially on brunettes like myself. We're going with friends to a Phillips de Pury art event tonight - they're always the best - and I'm probably going to wear something hot, and pink.

PA is short for PAL

Erin O'Connor with her PA, Fiona, on Day Four, after Todd Lynn.

It's clear why she's her PA: like Erin, she's just so damn nice. Just looking at her makes you want to smile. I had no idea people in this industry were so nice! But it's true: the higher up the ladder of success people get, usually - not always, but most of the time - they're just truly nice people.

THIS JUST IN: Just received an Anonymous Tip, I've got the wrong end of the stick. Fiona is SO not her PA, in fact, she's actually the person who discovered Erin! Her name is Fiona Ellis and she's co-founder of NK Management, among other achievements in her stellar career. And I can vouch for this: she is really, really nice. No wonder she and Erin are such good pals.

. . . . . . . .

Well this story just keeps getting more & more interesting. To me, at least. I've just received ANOTHER Anonymous Tip. Seems I've got it wrong AGAIN. I just keep putting my foot in it, and digging myself a deeper hole. I've contacted NK Management, spoke with Niamh who is so so nice, and then today, I discover that Fiona, or 'Ellis' as she's known (to everyone but me, apparently) has a really cool website. Click here if you'd like to see it.

So: Aonymous. Who are you? Are you an all knowing, all seeing, God? Or Goddess? It's freaky because Ellis's website starts out with a large, jeweled eye, and it feels like the Eye of God which is watching down upon me, laughing at my endless series of pratfalls & blunders. And feeding me tidbits of Truth along the way. Whoever you are, I am humbled, and grateful.

before jaeger

Before the Jaeger show, London Fashion Week, Day 4 (Monday), at Somerset House. I love the looks on the lucky ducks going into the show, including my new BFF, Erin. ; ) (See 'erin o'connor waved @ me', yesterday).

There's such a buzz before a show, some shows more than others, and Jaeger had that buzz this year. In keeping with the 'it's good manners to pay homage to your designer' theme, notice how there is a lot of black & white going on (and going in, to the show). I love how this venerable old brand, like Burberry, is moving in such a cool direction. It's Jaeger, with a twist. Click here and scroll thru. My favourite is the black swimsuit with a belt and a white open short sleeved shirt, and what look like possibly Wellies with an impossibly high wedge heel.

Which is your favourite look?

erin o'connor waved at me

Erin O'C was reading a text as she entered the Jaeger show on Monday @ LFW, and looked up & saw me snapping her. Her face broke into the most genuine smile, as if she was seeing her very best friend after way too long a time, and she waved a girly wave. Thrilled to bits, I waved back, and forgot to take the shot.

For those of you who don't live in the UK, I've found what I think is the soundtrack to the M&S ad campaign with Erin O'Connor, Twiggy, Jade Jagger, etc in it. Those in the UK, is this the right version? All I know is, ever since Monday, I can't stop singing it!

More great shots from before the Jaeger show, but Mr. Dot is starving (as am I), and he's said 'Jill, I've had enough.' Better snap to it!

Later. xoxo
