Because we were away for the weekend, at the in-laws, in deepest Herefordshire, where the air is thick with early spring, so pungent it's like a narcotic - like the poppy fields in the Wizard of Oz. Because we had the most wonderful walks among lakes and fields and hills, with the dogs. Because thousands of beautiful snowdrops and crocuses and blue bulbs are up, like a million miracles. Because I'm just so gosh darn sleepy, and there's much I'd like to say, but after all, tomorrow is another day.
Because I simply like this photo, of a boy whose name I can't remember (and have since found: Ed Thomas). I could happily wear everything he's wearing: it's my style, too. Somerset House, Day Six, LFW February 2010.
But if anyone in the UK still has the Times Style Section, Shane Watson, the brilliant editor, did a great essay on staying true to one's style. I'll find the link tomorrow, and then we can talk properly. Til then: hope you all had a splendid weekend, wherever you are, and a good night's sleep.
wow, really stylish! great photo, too.
