brevity: the stripes of wit

Trying to take a leaf from Kate Lanphear's book - and The Foolish Aesthete's husband ('just because') and trying a bit of brevity, the soul of wit.

How am I doing so far?

Shot a the Topshop Unique show, as before. 18 September, 2011, Waterloo Station, Old Eurostar whatever it's called. That's it, I'm done.

Except just one thing: Is that just me, or are those shoes one size too small for that model's feet?

great angle of photography, you've captured the movement in the stripy clothes as they walk, unique!

Ha ha! Love it!
These stripes are terrific, all the way to the catwalk and the atrium steel. Very well caught! xxx

I wondered the same thing about the shoes. Her heel is really hanging over. The photos are gorgeous! Such an interesting and unique perspective. You must have been lying down!

I love these! Even better if they came as trousers, too. Just imagine to wear your dresses with see-through striped trousers...
Yeap, the shoes look tiny for the poor girl's feet.

No, sitting, but in the front row. Usually I like to sit on the floor in the aisles, but in this case, I had a ticket sitting a row or so back, but the Topshop people are so nice, and they were lovely about letting me sit in the front row, since there was a spare place.

Also my lens tends to make things look closer (50m). I don't shoot zoom. I've got a zoom lens which lets me shoot wide angle, which I used for last season's Unique show, but I prefer the quality of the 50m: it's closer to what I like about shooting in film, with my dad's old Pentax. I'd still shoot in film if it wasn't so expensive and hard to get developed. But somehow it feels like cheating to over-shoot the way I do with digital. And then I have so many shots I can't decide what to show! With film, I could make one 36 exposure role really COUNT, and I'd like every single shot. I was really proud of that. This is a whole different medium, digital.

It's the head cold speaking: I've been inside since Thursday night and I can't seem to shut up! ; )

Sabine: agree. I'd LOVE them as huge pallazzo pants. Sorry - trousers!

Ragazza, MT, I'd love to check out your blogs when I get a chance. In the meantime, hope we'll hear from you again. Join the conversation!

Styleeast: so much for brevity, huh.

Odyssey, Toni, thanks and Toni you just reminded me: time to upload the photos of the day I met you. I can't believe I haven't yet done that!

Thanks guys. xoxo
