red lilps: juxtaposition

Shot within minutes of one another. Backstage, at fashion week.

I had named the top shot 'red lilps' and, what can I say. It made me smile.

Tomorrow's the sneak preview press day, Bowie show @ the V&a. SO psyched! Going with Pips Taylor and the pinch.tv crew. Charging my little vintage Canon, hope the sweet little thing can hold up for a few hours. Is it just me, or is life getting interesting?

rouge allure

More from my Oxford Street Juxtaposition series.

I am so on a roll. I can't get this song out of my head (see 'sweet silver bells'). Please play it, then I won't be the only one.

It was going thru my head last Thursday when I got caught in the rain on Oxford Street, and has inspired me to go thru photos, like memories, making collages. This model was backstage after some show - I forget now, which - last February at Somerset House. She was really nice.

There's such a fuss at the moment for red lips: I read about it in the Times Style section, but I've been thinking about red lips even before reading Odyssey's posts ('makeup' and 'matte'. I so wish I could wear red lips: it is the best way this season to be instantly glamorous. I don't know if it's my age, because I never felt I could wear it. My lips were always thin, and.. I can't tell you how bad I look in red lips, you'll just have to trust me. Stephanie swears by Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvet lip colour #37 (her new "red"), and I do know there are enough different types of red, blues and orangeys, as there are Eskimo words for snow, but still, that is a line I cannot cross. I cannot wear red lippy.

Can you? Do you? Which red are you?

backstage after emilio, but before amanda

Sorry sorry sorry - there is SO MUCH I want to show you and I feel like I've gone off on holiday and forgot to arrange for someone to feed the plants and water the cat, but I've got to get back to Somerset House ASAP cause my favourite old Calvin Klein (or was it Perry Ellis?) electric blue cardigan from the 80s (part of a skirt suit) that cost more than a month's rent at the time is still in my locker in the exclusive Photographer's Press Room and since the structure is only temporary, they could take it down at any time and there goes my sweater.

Three shots from backstage after Emilio de la Morena, which was a wonderful show (photos coming up, thank you Amy at Vodafone!) and before Amanda Wakeley. Okay better run - but I'll be back and then watch out. I'm gonna be posting on this fashion week til the cows come home.
