glamour

Backstage after the KTZ catwalk show.

Thinking a lot about glamour these days, perhaps because that was a theme in our shoot on Friday, and also because.. well, there's never too much glamour in one's life, is there?

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it thus:

glam·our
Variant(s): also glam·or \ˈgla-mər\
Function: noun
Etymology: Scots glamour, alteration of English grammar; from the popular association of erudition with occult practices
Date: 1715
1 : a magic spell
2 : an exciting and often illusory and romantic attractiveness ; especially : alluring or fascinating attraction —often used attributively

(Here's a bizarre coincidence: we've been to the Llewelyn Peninsula, in Powys, Wales, this summer. For the first time. And it's very.. magical. Still, I have no idea what it's doing in that definition!)

So: what's your definition of glamour?

I have not had a chance to comment on any of your latest posts for the simple reasons of lack of time due to school and because you post once every five seconds! Wow! You should receive a world record for more posts posted every 5 minutes or so. Honestly. Although, I do envy you for that. I wish I had all the time in the world to post and worry about my blog. I do check your blog over 3 times daily just to make sure I haven't missed anything! I enjoy all of your posts and of your looks! Apparently you took a whole lot of pictures at London Fashion Week! I love all of them and envy you for The Sartorialist shots! Like I said...I would faint! Did you see his blog? He posted the same guy you shot but a different shot! I was like wow! Anyway, I hope your doing just fine and it certainly seems like that! I see the followers only keep growing! I might as well convert this comment into a post so Au Revoir! (Me practicing my French for French class!)

That is an interesting definition! I guess I do associate magical/ gothic imagery with glamour! What makes me feel glam? It has to be the moment I slick on a dark lipstick, or when I wear anything white or cream. I am usually covered in some form of muck be it from the dogs or work, so to wear my long cream coat, is a treat and makes me feel like I could go collect an Oscar!
