runway: juxtaposition koma.lynn.lilies

It helps that it's so not a beach day - I like the idea that the rain that's about to pour down on London is probably the tail end of Irene - but looking back on February's catwalk shots, I'm getting excited about fall 2011.

Still, I can't help but feel: it's not what you wear, it's how you wear it.

Waterlilies from Kew, 29.08.11. Catwalk shows Todd Lynn, and David Koma, both on 21.02.11. Photos by me, JC Adams.

Thanks for the tweet! I've got a bit of Luddite in me and have hesitated to take part in a lot of the social networking. Must get on soon!

Love those Lilies. I can't help thinking about Monet.

I love Water Lillies. At my middle school we used to have a pond near the main entrance which had water lillies, so your picture reminds me of those happy times, young and carefree. They are going to pull it down now to build houses on it.

You couldn't be more right there Jill - "It's not what you wear, it's how you wear it". Having bought 95% of my wardrobe from charity shops and vintage fairs for the past three to four years I couldn't agree more. Some people can just pull things off. I find it most notable watching celebrities on the red carpet - some of them look as if the dresses were made for them but some of them as if their stylist has just shoved them in something that just really isn't 'them'. Love these shots Jill - especially the last one - that fur is incredible!

P.S. Thanks for your fantastic reply re cameras - I'll know who to ask if I need any more advice! xx

Thank you, each of you, for what you wrote. I've got to run out now, in the rain, and don't have time to reply on each of your blogs (but Cami, I did - and if anyone's reading this, please check out her blog, it's lovely!) but I just wanted to say that on days like today, when I've become jaded by some of the really vile bloggers - and there are some pretty nasty ones, trust me - but then, all it takes is a few genuinely kind comments, and I feel, it's all worth it.

Lovely day everyone! xx
